Our Story
Where the idea began
Educate the Children was inspired by the personal educational journey of NIMUBONA Eby Noel Cardi, a young person from Burundi.
Nimubona had the opportunity to study at Kigutu International Academy, an Anglophone educational institution in Burundi. That experience helped him understand something simple and powerful: education can open doors.
Education can change the way a child sees the world. It can create confidence. It can create opportunity. It can inspire ambition. It can give a young person the strength to continue even when circumstances become difficult. It can make a child believe that tomorrow can be better.
So he asked himself a question: if education could open a door for me, how can I help open doors for other children? That question became Educate the Children.

Where the journey was inspired
The educational journey that inspired this initiative began with an opportunity to learn at Kigutu International Academy.

Kigutu International Academy is named here as part of the founder's own educational journey. It is not presented as a partner, sponsor, donor or affiliate of Educate the Children.

From opportunity to responsibility
The initiative focuses on supporting children in primary and secondary education through educational resources, school materials, encouragement, mentorship, organised educational activities, and opportunities that help them stay motivated.
