Child safeguarding

Children come first in every decision about words, photographs and data.

  1. Child protection principles

    Children are treated with dignity and respect. Nothing is published that could place a child at risk.

  2. Photo consent

    A photograph is published only when consent has been given by the child's parent or guardian, and the child is comfortable.

  3. Responsible storytelling

    Stories focus on potential, never pity. Children are identified by first name, initials, or not at all.

  4. Privacy

    We do not publish home addresses, children's phone numbers, sensitive school information, or unnecessary personal data.

  5. Volunteer responsibilities

    Volunteers are expected to behave respectfully, follow these principles, and never collect unnecessary information from children.

  6. Reporting a concern

    If you have a safeguarding concern, contact the team directly by WhatsApp or email so that the right person can respond. Concerns are not discussed publicly.
